This design is a take on the traditional top-down-raglan. Stitches are cast on at the shoulder and increases are made at the sleeve ‘seams’ every right-side row, and at the neckline every row, until the body is the desired circumference. The stitches for front and back are then joined at the underarm, and the body is knit all in one piece to the side slit. Most of the trim is worked as the sweater is knit, with only the neckline trim being picked up and knit as the very last step. This is to ensure a custom fit. Individual body-shapes may look better with a wider or narrower neckband.
