Hello Again!

I’ve been incommunicado the last few days because I had the first big Glam Knits deadline this week. 10 projects. I have to admit, I freaked out a little at the end there. I’m afraid the projects aren’t going to be good enough or GLAM enough…if you name your book with an adjective, the garments had better fall at least somewhere near that category. (pressure.) I grit my teeth and mailed them all Monday afternoon.

On one hand, it’s a relief to have them out the door, but on the other hand, I’m waiting anxiously to hear what everyone thinks.

I’ve also been out of town again. On Thursday, I drove with my parents up to Boulder (that’s about 13 hours) for my sister’s graduation from Law School. (I think ‘Law School’ deserves the capitalization.) It was a great trip. I got a little knitting done, a little work done, and listened to some old BBC Agatha Christie stories on my iPod. That Poirot. He can solve ANYthing. We got back on Saturday evening. Quick turnaround. Tonya’s coming down here for a loooong visit toward the end of the month.

I’ve got photos, of course, but haven’t yet uploaded them to the computer.

The next trip isn’t until the 30th, when we go to TNNA. My class is on Thursday, booth setup and Fashion Show is on Friday, and then the market is on Sat-Mon. I don’t really have any new Glampyre stuff, but I’m teaching my class, the two new SWTC/ Vickie Howell Collection patterns will be revealed, and I’ll have FOUR book signings. I’m starting to look forward to it.

Drop-stitch tank!

Carolyns-drop-stitch-tank2

This is Carolyn’s version of the Drop-Stitch Tank from Fitted Knits. I taught a class on this top at Unravel last month, and Carolyn was in my class! This is amazing to see, because Carolyn was not so sure that she’d get gauge on the lace pattern, and I think it looks like her practice REALLY paid off!!

Great job, Carolyn!!

Hey Girl, Party!

There was a guy in my freshman dorm who whenever he saw me (or any girl) would shout out, “Hey Girl! Party!” in a really strong southern accent.

It’s hard to imagine TODAY, but apparently ‘partying’ IS on the horizon.

It’s been feeling like a long-long-long time away, BUT:

On Saturday, I’ll be in Albuquerque for a book signing at Village Wools from 12-3.

Cinco de Mayo! Woo! (Psst:It’s NOT Mexican Independence Day.)

Hello and Welcome!

If you’ve found this site through Knitty Gritty or through Knitty.com and have questions about either the “Better Sweater” or the “Cropped Cardigan with Leaf Ties” please take a few moments to browse the posts at the Fitted Knits Knitalong.

The Knitty Gritty Better Sweater is called the “Carie Cropped Cardigan” in my book, and you’ll find lots of tips and tricks regarding both of these patterns over at the Knitalong site.

If you ask your questions at the Knitalong, rather than by emailing me individually, it’ll make it a lot easier for me to answer everyone.

Thank you for your interest in these patterns and for your cooperation,
-Stefanie.
